I was chatting with someone close to me recently who said they found it very hard to meditate. They just didn’t know how to do it. And what good is it? They claimed the “monkey mind” is too strong. It all got me wondering about meditation. What exactly is it? How do we know we’re doing it “right”? There are so many guided meditations available online now, how do we know what we listen to as a guided meditation, is actually meditating? Maybe it’s just our thoughts being led down a path. How do we know? And then I thought about yogis in a cave somewhere being all alone and meditating, (which sometimes sounds really good). But what exactly is meditation?
I went inside and asked Enru to see what they say on the subject. Here’s the result, slightly edited because my fingers made some spelling errors and such.
Enru: Hello dear one! We are pleased to have the advantage of your allowing us to communicate in this technological way. We are grateful to have the opportunity to share about this powerful way of communicating you call meditation. Meditation is simply the art of being quiet, present and aware, as you have learned. It is the ability to be in receiver mode. Your body, when connected to your Spirit or energy body is similar to a giant receiver. It transmits and receives. But as we discussed when we were talking of being a channel, your receiver must be tuned to the right frequency to enable you to receive information. In the case of humans now, where you are in your spiritual evolution, it is needed that humans relearn, re-member, to tune your receiver to be able to be aware. To allow their receiver to know what is being received. (it’s also important to understand that inner guidance does not speak English, French, Spanish, or any language) Of course there are other awareness needed as well. There are those energetics who would not be truly congruent with your spiritual energy, and they might confuse you. You must be able to discern the difference between what your higher power is saying and what it isn’t saying. For instance, your rational mind may try to get you to do something, perhaps something incongruent with your better health, versus what your higher power is transmitting to your heart and mind. So be aware of that possibility. But in general, just being quiet, present and tuned in.
What do you mean by being Present?
Enru: We mean to be in this time only, in the now, not in the past, and not in the future. Allow that argument with the spouse or boss to go away from the now, and allow the concerns about the future to go away, and be only in your own physical body. Then you are present. When you are quiet energetically, mentally, emotionally there is nothing blocking the path of information, (vibration), coming to you. This could also be noticed to be the art of allowing, the art of allowing information to come to you. And being aware of the congruence with your own connection to source to be able to determine the congruence with your higher self. To know what is right for you and your connection to source.
When you are present, you are in the moment, not thinking and experiencing and being tied up in knots about the future, or the past. When you are present, you let those things go and be in the moment.
And when you are aware, you are able to receive information that comes to you, and process it as just information, wisdom, intelligence. That is the true meaning of meditation.
You can be meditating when you are sitting in a cave, or in your chair or walking the dog, or gardening with your hand in dirt, standing in the shower or floating in water. When you are in the garden, and you have a question about a plant you might touch the plant, to discern the information it has to share.
Being in the mode of receivership. Able to receive information, as much as humans are capable at this point, when you have one point of attention. With one point of intention, one point of attraction, you are attracting information about one certain thing. Allowing the information to come to you. And being able recognize its resonance with that which is your connection to source.
But how do we know what we are learning is correct?
Enru: It can take practice. When a guided meditation is being observed, and the listener allows the mind to wander, the connection to the information can be lost. So we urge just gently bringing the mind back to what is being heard. Enough of this training will cause the mind to learn to be only present and the receiver to be tuned to what is heard.
That is where the practice of meditation comes in. You learn how to be aware of the vibration coming to you from a responsible source, whether it is a plant, or your higher power. Your beingness, your soul must be aware of its own vibration enough to recognize the resonance of the information coming into its presence. It must be able to recognize the coherence between what it is hearing and what it knows. Through its constant connection with source, one is able to know, not think, not have faith, not to trust, but to know that this information, this vibration that it is receiving is in congruence with source. This is the way you, dear RJ, know what is coming through your fingers in congruent with source.
It is this skill that humans have forgotten. This skill, through the power of those who would have power over you, has been largely forgotten. This connection to source, this ability to know that you are in resonance with source, most humans have allowed others to take that ability away from them. If you can not do it yourself, then you must rely on others to do it for you and to interpret that which source sends you. If you believe you can not receive information yourself, through meditation, or by knowing your own sovereignty, then you need them to be able to interpret and tell you want to do. That is how they gain your power.
Many human constructions and institutions have done this.
Human financial institutions have power over your energy exchange. Medical institutions have great power over your physicality, and you have given them power to do so. Although great advantages are gained by the physical body in some instances, others are disadvantageous.
Meditation, the ability to be quiet, present and aware, is a direct path to the information these others would have you allow them to interpret.
It is your choice.
